The updated software makes the Active 10 more intuitive, and the new version ensures the unit is optimised for European mapping which will launch later on this year.
SatMap MD Richard Calthrop-Owen, said:
“We have listened to feedback from the general user as well as a number of mountain rescue teams and military personnel, all of whom have put the Active 10 through some rigorous testing.
“There have been some great suggestions for new features and changes and we’ve also had some ideas of our own too. We are confident these changes will enhance the user experience as well as improving their enjoyment of the great outdoors.”
The Active 10 software version 1.3 features European Datum, now including support for international mapping. There are also changes to data measurement: total ascent, total descent, maximum and minimum elevation have been also been added.
Satmap Systems is a British company. In 2007, the company’s Active 10 won ‘best product’ from the Outdoor Writers and Photographers Guild.
Active 10 gives pin-point accurate location on digital Ordnance Survey Explorer and Landranger maps. Users can plot where they’ve been and where they’re going on the bright scrolling digital maps.
