Gerdemann is Munster’s Athlete of the Year

On Tuesday evening Linus Gerdemann was voted Munster, Germany’s, athlete of the year. He could not attend. The Team MILRAM captain won by 252 votes over Christian Pander, who plays football for FC Schalke 05. Gerdemann, who is riding his first race of the season for the ProTour Team at the Mallorca Challenge, could thus celebrate his first “win” of the season. “I am very happy to have been elected athlete of the year in my hometown,. I thank everyone who voted for me,” the MILRAM captain said.

Espresso ritual on Mallorca

Coffee Break!

The season has only just started and the first team ritual has already developed: a cup of espresso just before the start! Tourists and natives are all surprised to see the MILRAM pros stop in a cafe for a final cup of coffee. The background: On Mallorca, the MILRAM camper also serves as the team bus. The “real” team bus, which includes the Italian coffee machine, stayed in Germany. Since the coffee machine in the camper doesn’t work right now, the riders decided spontaneously to find another place to find something to drink.

Kux sick in bed

MILRAM all rounder Christian Kux is still waiting for his first race of the season. He will have to wait an unknown amount of time because of an intestinal infection. “I’m afraid I have had this problem since the Vuelta. I finish off my medication in three or four days and then have to wait a week to see if the situation improves,” the youngster said. “Two years ago I had a similar problem and had to pause for six weeks. After that I trained for eight weeks and was stronger than ever. I hope it works that it works out that way again this time.”
