I’ve just received a quick update from Vanessa Raw British Triathlete & 2012 Olympic hopeful. She had just finished her latest WCS race in Madrid, which took place on the 30th of May.
Vanessa was riding aboard her new Focus Cayo Lightweight which arrived a few weeks ago. After a great swim she found herself in the second pack, where Vanessa hit the front, and drove the pace very hard. After a great transisition she was rolling out on the Focus Cayo Lightweight to find herself up with the leading pack and working them intensely on the Focus. You could really tell she was getting into the swing of things and looked really settled on the bike.
After the transition into the Run stage Vanessa advised us that due to her recent spate of injuries she was instructed by her coaches to only run 1 lap in a bid to stop undoing all the great work she has put into recovering from previous injury issues. This resulted in a DNF, however it was great to see her absolutely storming in the swim and flying on the bike stages.
Here is a great pic of Vanessa riding hard during the bike stage.

We will keep you posted with further updates and pictures from Vanessa via the Wiggle Bloggle.
