Team Wiggle 2010

After a hugely successful 2009, Team Wiggle is looking forward to building on its success next year. This season, our athletes have hit – and even exceeded – their goals and targets and are busy planning races for next year. We’re really proud of what they’ve achieved, be it in road racing, mountain biking, age group and elite triathlon, ultra running or cyclo cross.

Rather than invite applications for team sponsorship in 2010, we have decided to keep Team Wiggle as it is with just a few new additions.

The team in 2010 will include: Mountain Mayhem champion Matt Page; XC racing sensation Lee Williams; road, MTB and XC rider Ben Simmons; elite triathletes Stu Hayes and Emma-Kate Lidbury; age group triathlete Carolyn Hewett and up-and-coming multisport talent Africa Mason.

New additions to the team will be:

Jon Cannings: Jon will be road racing for Team Wiggle in 2010. He’s making a return to racing after a few years off but says his hard work ethic and his “never afraid to have a go” attitude will pay dividends. On the domestic circuit, he plans to race Premier Calendar and will also travel to Belgium to take part in some Kermis/Kermesse races.

Dave Harmon and Jez Hastings: Dave and Jez will form Team Wiggle Tandem and will be attempting to break several tandem records come 2010. They’ve already done the London to Paris ride on fixies and are busy building winter fitness ready for an action-packed year. Between them, they have an impressive cycling CV: Dave is a leading TV cycling commentator and former elite MTB racer while Jez has been racing, touring and involved in “all things bike-related” since the late ‘70s.

Richie Carter: Richie will be riding our exciting new range of sportive bikes as part of Team Verenti. He is a keen sportive rider who next year plans to race La Marmotte, the Dragon Ride, Etape du Caledonia, Etape du Tour, the MagnifiCat and the Southern Sportive.

We look forward to supporting all our riders and athletes and wish them all the very best for a successful 2010.
