Zoggs Pred Flex

Exclusive to Wiggle: New Zoggs Predator Flex Goggles

If you’re one of the many thousands of fans of the Zoggs Predator goggles, keep reading – because the Predators are back and this time they’re better than ever.

The Zoggs Predator Flex share all the same brilliant features as their predecessor with new added extras which make them possibly the most advanced – and certainly one of the most comfortable – goggles on the market.

Although they aren’t due to be launched until June 1, here at Wiggle we’ve got them exclusively for you from May 1, so we’ve had plenty of time to take them for a few swims both in the pool and in the lake.

Top comfort and feel.
One of the first things you’ll notice about the Predator Flex is that you, err, don’t notice them. Unlike some goggles which suck the life out of your face and leave you with marks around your eyes, the Predator Flex goggles (let’s get informal and call them PFs ) sit easily around your eye sockets and simply mould themselves to the contours of your face.

4 Point Flex Technology

Rather than feeling tight or restrictive like some goggles, they almost feel like they’re not there. This is the unique ‘4 Flexpoint’ technology coming into play, a feature which the boffins at Zoggs have been working hard at to ensure these goggles fit every face shape. These flex points (two near the nosebridge, two around the outer edges of the frame) allow the frame to flex to the face and the nosebridge to flex around the nose and eyes. The result is a goggle which feels like it’s been custom-made for your face. As a result of this, the PFs seal perfectly.

No leaks, no fog, no fuss
Many swimmers and triathletes often complain about goggles leaking, but it must be damn near impossible for these to leak or let in so much as a drop of water. Not once during our test swims did we encounter a problem with this. Another common complaint with goggles is fogging or misting, but again, the PFs always offered fog-free performance. Although many goggles claim to have anti-fog features (which sometimes leave a little to be desired) the Fogbuster anti-fog lenses on the PFs work wonders, so you’ll be able to put away those anti-fog drops and stop spitting in your lenses every time you swim.

Perfect vision
When it comes to swimming open water, lots of triathletes – especially less experienced ones – prefer to have a wider field of vision. These goggles certainly offer that. Zoggs call it their CLT (Curved Lens Technology) which provides 180 degrees of undistorted peripheral vision. They’re not wrong. The PFs really come into their own when swimming outdoors and the mirrored version are simply sublime. On the brightest of days, they offer brilliant vision and reduce glare so that even if you’re sighting into the sun you’ll still stay on track. It’s rare to find a goggle which offers such a sleek design with such a wide range of vision, but Zoggs seem to have done it here. As well as the mirrored version, they are also available in white/blue, black/yellow and blue/yellow.

Get a pair and get swimming – you’ll wonder how you ever swam without them…
