  • Congratulations to all. Here what a few of them had to say.

A feeling of complete elation when I realised I was really going to ride with my sporting heroes.
    Many thanks

    Paul Mannell

My initial reaction on hearing the news is: Crap, I’d better fit my Garmin GPS onto my bike over the weekend or I’m going to be in trouble!! I only ordered it from Wiggle on Monday so haven’t yet had a chance to use it. Obviously looking forward to meeting the guys from the Garmin team on Monday. Even if I get dropped off the back during the ride-out at least I’ll be able to find my way back!

Eek! The last cycling accolade I won was my cycling proficiency test In those days the only accoutrements to my bike were a bit of cardboard tied against the wheel to make it sound like a motorbike and a milometer which mechanically clonked around! Oh for a speedometer! xx years later I have treated myself to a Garmin Edge 705 and find myself winning a competition to ride with the Garmin Transitions team! My fear is that in Strictly Dancing terms I may be the cycling equivalent of Ann Widdecombe (don’t dwell on that thought!) and I’m not even sure if I want a record of my speed!
But here we go to a secret location in Hampshire (if I lose everybody after the first mile I will have my Garmin Edge to find my way home in the setting sun!)
May be I should have stuck to the ‘virtual partner’ mode?! No – not as much fun!

    Julia Arrowsmith

It’s the first competition I have entered for a while (having never won one before) and I was over the moon to receive the email from you. I did have to read it twice to make sure I hadn’t mis-read it. I have only been cycling for a couple of years and as a keen cycling fan and heavily involved with the University cycling team it would be an awesome opportunity to cycle with world class riders and gain some valuable tips.

Many thanks once again for this amazing opportunity and look forward to hearing from you.
