Event: 27th March 2010

We’ve got some exciting details on the 2011 Wiggle Cheshire Cat which takes place on Sunday 27th March and entries are already open for the UK’s big season opener. Last year nearly 3,000 people entered and clearly this ride continues to be one of the most popular sportives on the calendar. The organisers tell us that the three route options are modeled on last year’s highly popular format, but not identical. The 100 mile and 67 mile options take riders east early on to the truly awesome climb of the Mow Cop ‘Killer Mile”. This went down, or should that be up, well with riders last year as at 15 miles in it gives riders the best chance to earn their medal for not stopping or walking the steepest section. If you want to hedge your bets so early in the season the 45 mile option misses all the big climbing and is popular with first time sportivers. Event HQ is the prestigious Alexandra Stadium, home to Crewe Alexandra with good car-parking and easy access to rail, roads and M6 motorway.

As well as headline support from online retailer Wiggle and nutritional support from High5, the Wiggle Cheshire Cat is proud to be working with Cancer Research UK – it’s new charity partner. Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research and in addition to their continued ground breaking work in fighting cancer they support the work of more than 4,800 researchers, doctors and nurses throughout the UK, fighting cancer on all fronts.
