Since the last blog, I’ve still managed to keep my lead in the Calshot Winter Track League. However, it’s just coming up to the end of the winter break. The last round of the series before the winter break was unfortunately cancelled. This was annoying but totally understandable. The weather in the UK has been atrocious. Well, for the UK it has.

The day before I had been in London, when I eventually made it due to snow the roads were very slow. I met up with some good friends of mine so we could go and explore Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, if you get the opportunity go there, especially if it has been snowing! It added to the atmosphere so much.
Riding on the road has basically been a no-go. As cycling in dark lanes with black ice, would of been very risky. I’ve been doing all my training on indoor trainers. I recommend some good films to watch. It helps pass the time.
I dread to think how many km’s I have done on the rollers during this period. I did all of this despite a chest infection. There was an aim further down the line. I wanted to ride the British National Madison Championships, so, Ben Simmons and I entered. As a warm up we have the Welsh Open/Closed Madison championships this weekend.
I’ve taken a setback however, last week in training on the track, I took a tumble. It resulted in a bad loss of skin on my arm, bottom, knee (the back of it acted as a brake!). not to mention a sore shoulder. So this weekend will be interesting due to the build up I will let you know how it goes. To be honest, I’m not expecting anything amazing due to the crash and that I am in a fair amount of pain.
