There’s something for everyone in Wiggle’s 2011 event series

Regardless of where you live, what type of cycling you love and how fit you are there’s something for everyone in Wiggle’s series of events for the 2011 season. Wiggle has teamed up with event organisers who share the same passion for cycling and pride themselves on delivering fun and rewarding rides. Whether it’s a family-orientated mountain bike ride you’re after, a chance to challenge yourself against your club mates over 200km or a night-time sportive, you’ll find it all in Wiggle’s series.
After a hugely successful 2010 series, this year there will be more than 30 Wiggle-sponsored mountain bike and road bike events taking place nationwide, many of which will be building on some of last year’s most popular events. The fun gets under way in March with two of the Wiggle Super Series events, the Southern Rough Ride and the No Excuses Sportive, which are organised by UK Cycling Events. The KILO TO GO team also swings into action in late March with the Wiggle Cheshire Cat, one of the biggest cyclosportive events on the UK sportive calendar. It offers three different routes – 100 miles, 77 miles or 45 miles – and last year saw nearly 3000 riders take part.

Martin Talbot, Wiggle’s director of marketing, said:

“Here at Wiggle we love our cycling and know there’s nothing better than taking part in a well organised, fun event so we’re really looking forward to our 2011 series. We are working with organisers who put on first class mountain bike and sportive events with excellent facilities where the focus is firmly on each rider having a great time. This year’s series is certainly shaping up to be the biggest and best yet.”

Many of the events were sell-out successes last year so early entry is advised. Events on the 2011 calendar include the Wiggle Enduro6 and Mountain Mayhem, both organised by Provelo, the Wiggle Dragon Ride and The MagnifiCat, as well as the Wiggle Super Series, organised by UK Cycling Events, and the Wiggle Sportive Series, run by KILO TO GO. Martin Talbot added:

“Signing up for an event early in the year is a great way to help motivate you to train. The feedback we had last year from riders of all ages and abilities was superb so we’re confident all of your training will be worth it. Get out and enjoy riding – be it on your mountain bike, road bike or hybrid bike.”
