Bike Geeks, yep, lots of them, including me!
I am going to talk you through my 2011 race bike. The Focus Izalco Pro 1.0 Dura-Ace. This years race frame is unchanged from 2010. What I particularly like about the 2011 bike is that Focus have decided to utilise the BB30 bottom bracket and pair it with the FSA SLK Light chainset. Last year it was a standard Dura-Ace chainset and standard B/B. What I particularly like about these frames is the cleanliness of them. Internal cable routing all around. Thank you Focus. Also, and this is Focus’ words not mine, but this is the easiest way to explain: The SSPS (Stable Stiffness Per Size) system is one of the major strokes of genius by FOCUS production managers. In the past every aluminium/carbon frame, regardless of size, had the same tube dimensions. Now – due to SSPS – the tube dimensions grow with the frame’s size. That means optimal handling rigidity, suspension behaviour and weight – whatever the rider’s height. This is good when you are 6ft tall and ride a size large frame.

This year’s Focus comes with a slightly lower spec than last years, however, the reduction in price is reflected in this and the bike represents excellent value for money. Shimano Dura-Ace transmission needs to explaining and does the job perfectly. This year see’s an alloy finishing kit adorning the bike, as opposed to the carbon offerings from last year. I have changed the out of the box 3T bars, stem and seatpin for some lovely Deda Zero 100 components. The reason for this was purely me being a bike geek and liking the brand and the style of these components (white = EURO). I am a fan of the shallow drop bars too. when using them you realise just how fast the RHM (rapid hand movement) system is and reap all the benefits.

The wheels are the bombproof Mavic Ksyrium Elite, I’ve these are coated then coated in a lovely pair of Vittoria Pave clinchers. However, pictured is some Mavic R-Sys wheels that I prefer to use in dry racing days. These are also dressed in Vittoria tyres, this time it’s the new Open Corsa Evo SC Clincher version, as close to a tubular tyre that I have found to date. I am a massive fan of Vittoria tyres, and have been since I was a youngster racing. I guess it was seeing them on race wheels of my fathers bikes, oh, and all the pro’s bikes on the posters decorating my bedroom walls. My special day race wheels have the tubular version of the Corsa Evo Sc. You can view the care and attention that go’s into manufacturing this brands goods here.
Speedplay pedals help transfer the power. These are a low stack height, lightweight and offer great ease of clipping in and lots of adjustability with cleat float, perfect for riders like me who like some ankle movement.
Saddle of choice is the wonderful Selle San Marco Regale Racing Team, this offers comfort and style in a lightweight package. Certainly my favourite saddle right now.

So far this years model has received fantastic feedback from people when they have seen it out on the racing scene. The colour scheme works well.
That near enough covers it, any questions on advice for components etc feel free to email in and the Wiggle staff will do their best to answer.

I also bought [izaruko] 1.0. The race in the future is the enjoyment.
The wheel is changed to [kishiriumu] SL.
Because it was large and the size was a little in H=190cm Japan, it bought it in Uighur.
I think that the choice of the saddle serves as a reference. It is good in the future.
It is K-tanaka wishes well though thinks that there is a place amusing because it is not good at English
