Team Wiggle mountain bike rider Lee Williams has already enjoyed great success this season – including his fifth consecutive win at the recent Welsh Mountain Bike Championships – so he goes into this weekend’s World Cup race in terrific shape. Lee, who rides one of Wiggle’s most popular mountain bikes, the Focus Raven, will be looking to shine at the third round of the World Cup series in Offenburg, Germany, this weekend.
He said:
“I’m really looking forward to the race, I’m in good shape and have been riding high since defending my title at the Welsh Championships.”
Lee, an Olympic hopeful for the 2012 Games, had been training hard for months with a view to keeping his prized Welsh Championship jersey.
He said:
“Every year I go to defend my title and every year there’s someone wanting to snatch it off me, so to cross the line to take another Welsh mountain bike title and the chance to wear my Welsh Champs jersey for another season is always an extremely satisfying feeling.”
He added:
“Most of my winter training was geared up to help my chances of getting another win at the Welsh Championships. My biggest advantage is having the support of Wiggle for all my training and racing needs. A race is only two hours long, but it takes thousands of hours of hard work behind the scenes before you reach that start line. Wiggle makes sure I’ve always got the best tools to get me there, whether it’s the mountain bikes which I train and race on, my High5 nutrition or the award-winning dhb clothing.”
Martin Talbot, Wiggle’s director of marketing, said:
“It is great to see Lee achieving the results he has worked so hard for. We are only too pleased to support him and wish him every success in this weekend’s race.”
