Well the last 2 months of my life have probably been the most hectic I’ve ever experienced!
After the season kicked off in April, things have been non stop for me. Juggling racing, running a race team, my fitness and trying to have a little bit of a life has been tough…. but I’m still here and going strong!
The first few rounds of the championship for me were pretty hard going. Gremlins caused me 3 non-finishes – one of them on the last lap when I was 3 seconds in the lead so it hadn’t been the kind of start I was hopeful for!
It was clear we had the pace to win, we just needed a little bit of luck… and finally, at Oulton park we got it! Winning the first race of the weekend and 2nd in the second race it was such a relief to get my maiden win and get through a weekend without any issues!
With confidence high, we travelled north to the Croft racing circuit where my pace put me in pole position for the races and I came away from the weekend with two 1st places and a 4th place, after having to start from the pitlane due to making the wrong tyre choice in tricky conditions (my fault!!).
Now it’s the half way point in the season and we have got a 7 week break – during this time the car will get a rebuild and I will be concentrating on my fitness, getting back out on the Verenti every day and making sure that when I turn up at the next round at the Snetterton Race circuit, my fitness is as good as it can be so that my focus is solely on driving the car as quick as it will possibly go!
After the torrid start, I’m 100 points behind the current leader so have a massive task in front of me to be able to recuperate and have a chance of winning this championship. I will be doing everything within my powers to make sure that the car and myself are both in the best form they can be to give me the best chance of taking the title!
I would like to thank Wiggle for their continued support.
