Stage 17

Tour de France 2011 wends its way to the French-Italian border- more specifically to the town of Pinerolo. It is the only time that this year’s Tour de France finds itself out of French territories. The highest peak today stands at 2035m, 117km into the Stage

After the break-day and then yesterday’s flatter terrain, today will bring the deeper aches and pains to the fore. The final 4km will give riders a flatter route when they reach Pinerolo and pedal just short of 2km to the finish
