Stage 19

Friday is a day when we get some notoriously punishing climbs on the route. Modane Valfrejus to Alpe-d’Huez may be a relatively short part of the Tour, but that doesn’t mean that it’s any easier. The highest point of the’s route will be the summit of the Cap de Gailibier- standing defiantly as the peleton battle their way to 2556m. After that they have to tackle the infamous Alpe-d’Huez. Known for its sharp bends, we’ll see the most determined riders grit their teeth and go in for an attack
