It’s nearing the end of what has been a very successful year for Team Wiggle. We have joined our sponsored athletes through smiles, tears, triumphs and disappointments and we are enormously proud of every single one of our fabulous team. Our thanks go to triathlete Emma-Kate Lidbury, solo MTB’er Matt Page, age grouper Carolyn Hewett, road rider Ben Simmons, MTB and Cyclocross champ Lee Williams, downhill MTB’er Finn Tennant and super car racer Nathan Freke.

With a whole new year ahead of us, we are anticipating that 2012 is going to be an absolutely phonomenal year for Team Wiggle. Each and every athlete has had a fabulous 12 months. With so many blogs to choose from, the options for highlights were endless. But here’s just one from each athlete for 2011…

Emma-Kate

Emma-Kate won a hat trick of Ironman 70.3′s in 2011. Taking the prime spot on the podium at Mallorca, Wimbleball and Augusta Emma-Kate really left her competitors in the shade. Next year Emma-Kate is hungry for more challenges. As an absolute powerhouse for mental and physical strength, we can be absolutely certain that Emma-Kate is getting ready for even more triathlon success.

Matt Page

Matt had a brilliant 2011 – we could have chosen Ironbike and a multitude of other events. We eventually chose Matt’s Tour of the Himalayas as he overcome illness to grab hold of the trophy and relish in the unique experience of riding across such a fabulous landscape. It was an absolute treat to be given an insight into such an awesome feat of endurance.

Carolyn

Carolyn took her Team Wiggle kit and smile onto the Shock Absorber Women Only Triathlon podium. The sheer enthusiasm of this post really gives us an insight into how much Carolyn loves her sport. With two wins in close succession, Carolyn’s passion drives her across the finish line and gets her results. Read this and feel inspired!

Ben

Ben flew the flag for Team Wiggle in Devon for the Brentor Road Race. With a battle at the finish line and a second place to boot, Ben finished this race reminding us that it’s not just placing that counts – it’s having to fight for the end result. Ben’s strength as a rider really kept him going and gave us all a kick to get out training!

Lee Williams

Lee stormed to victory at the National XC Championships to take the title for another year. Lee’s approach is live and learn and he uses every single event as a chance to hone his skill. Winning is the result!

Finn

2011 has seen Finn hit the trails hard! Aston Hill was where Finn’s passion for downhill MTB really came across – he entered the race, used past experiences to really maximise his skills and came away feeling really very satisfied with his performance. For Finn, it’s all about feeling like he’s given it his all.

Nathan

Nathan is our resident speed demon – he uses cycling as a way to maintain his fitness to blast his way around the tarmac. At Rockingham Motor Speedway he overcame mechanical troubles to maintain a run of wins – his ninth!

We can all take something away from Team Wiggle. The ethos of every single Wiggle athlete is the same ; do what you love and success will follow.

Here’s to a happy and healthy 2012!
