This morning, I wrote up a blog about trying not to freeze outside in the cold. It’s not just runners that are affected by the changing seasons, though. If anything, it’s even more important to protect yourself against the wind and rain when you are speeding along the road on your new road bike, or cutting it up off road on a mountain bike. Or, if, like me, you are a cat six (seafront division) racer, then I’m sure you recognise the need for a decent set of lights so you can see all the debris that’s been pushed into the bike lane by passing trucks.
As luck would have it, here at Wiggle we’ve got a couple of fantastic offers to keep you rolling during these dark months. As with earlier, these prices won’t be around forever, so click now to take advantage.
Let’s work from the inside out, and start with bib tights. Both the Campagnolo Challenge Force Bib Tights and the Heritage Thermo Bib Tights are 40% off, making them great value. If you’ve not ever tried bib tights (for a long time I just wore cycle shorts and a vest), then this is a great opportunity to get a really good product without breaking the bank.

Naturally, you’ll want to complement this with a base layer, so it’s just as well that there’s 30% off the Craft Cool Mesh Superlight Sleeveless Tee, which is both breathable and warming. For those particularly cold days, take 30% off the DeFeet Armskins Arm Warmers and your forearms are protected from the wind.
The final part of the equation is a pair of gloves (the Gore Wear Xenon 2.0 WINDSTOPPER Softshell Gloves are 20% off) and a decent rain jacket. We’ve got you covered with 43% off the Pearl Izumi Elite Barrier Jacket – a saving of £30!

As for those lights I mentioned earlier – there’s 60% off the Smart Lunar 25 Lux Front Light, 50% off the Lunar 25 Front and Rear set, and a third off the Moon X-Power 300 Rechargeable Front Light. I’m a big fan of USB rechargeable lights, though I should note in case any-one from the Wiggle IT department is reading, I’m not stealing electricity at work. Honest.

There is, of course, the chance that you may just not want to go outside. I cannot blame you. There’s a road to my flat that frequently floods, which means I can’t get to the village pub. It’s no reason not to put in some training, though. Turbo trainers are pretty great for keeping – or building up – the strength in your legs while a) staying dry and b) watching TV. I recommend the horse races as a pace setter. Also, positioning yourself by the window so you confuse the heck out of passers by.
Anyways, we’ve got four on special offer – the Elite Crono Hydro-Mag ElastoGel Trainer, the Elite SuperCrono Power Fluid ElastoGel Trainer, the Elite Crono Power Fluid Wireless Trainer, and the Tacx Flow Ergo Trainer. I can see a couple of these in the staff purchases area of our office, so I wouldn’t hesitate – these are bound to be popular.

As always, the reduced prices are not permanent, so if you are reading this blog from the future, check the live prices on the site before you buy.
