Cheers Mark for the great report. What an awesome result for British Cycling in general and a great start to what is going to be a fantastic year for GB track cycling.

If any of you riders and bike fans out there fancy having a go at riding an indoor velodrome, then check out the Corporate Velodrome Challenge. www.velodromechallenge.co.uk

Get together with your colleagues and friends and ask your boss to pay for a once in a lifetime team building opportunity. A great way to generate some positive PR and see what you can do as a team on the Calshot Velodrome!!

Become part of the track cycling phenomenon that will just keep on growing as we approach the Games!!

See you on the track,
Chris

Hi Paul, That final descent was great, very tricky with line choice at certain points. Hope I didn't cause any problems as I came by!

29er was fantastic but rigid was not ideal. With a suspension fork I could have let go a bit more on the bumpier sections.

Always love the Dyfi events, a great challenge going up and down!

Well Matt your foot problem looked like it slowed you down (that bit was a joke!!!) you came passed me on Builth Decent as if I had stopped, I did look down to make sure my chain was still on!! I was on my 2nd lap, so you must have been on your home run. You called ‘rider right’ and my mate in front took evasive action taking the left line going straight through the iced over puddle!!!! I used your line on the next lap! How did you find riding a 29er rigid around the Dyfi forest? And what bike were you riding? Cheers Paul

For there to be greater safety on the roads, I believe the first requirement is to ensure that both camps, drivers and cyclists understand each other's needs better. An open debate creating a list of please dos and please don'ts for both cyclists and drivers will not only create more considerate and safer road use but also prevent resentment on both sides.

This lack of resentment may cause both parties to be more generous and patient towards each other and give greater confidence to people to cycle those shorter journeys.

I'm a keen cyclist based on it being a hobby, loving the cheap commute and parking, being awake for work and enjoying its health benefits, but who worries re road safety. But I also love my car and can find the green snobbery and inconsideration of silly cyclists can give us a bad reputation.

Therefore, Dear The Times, please invite both cyclists and drivers to write in about the behaviours we like and dislike and draw up some standard guidelines and where relevant possibly work with the department of transport if there are areas that should be brought into the highway code.

Many thanks
